Overtaking Large Cargo Ship, Up close!!

A large cargo ship up Close and personal whilst overtaking this vessel whilst heading back from a day out fishing. Weather conditions were perfect and wouldn’t recommend getting this close to these large ships. The name of the ship was Ten Jin Maru, a large Pamax Bulk vessel, usually carrying Coal or Iron ore. But the weather was great and breaks up the long trip home, we decided to head in closer for closer look. We came from astern and up the starboard side, and opened her up to 32 knots, and overtook quite quickly. Didn’t even see any crew members, so hopefull someone on the bridge was keeping a lookout. Does pay to keep clear of ships out on the ocean, as they’re not as manoeuvrable as a small boat. They can take a couple of miles too stop.
his was a Japanese flagged Bulk cargo ship bound for the port of Haypoint, where they will load coal, most likely for Japan. Hay Point consists of two coal terminals, Hay point and Dalrymple Bay Coal terminal.
